BAUPLAN are an original band playing a style they call Hard Pop, a heady mixture of power pop, indie, classic rock and new wave. Their sound has been compared to Tom Petty, the Cars and Crowded House. Crunchy guitar tones, driving rhythms and distinctive keyboards adorn songs that are guaranteed to stick in your head forever.
A truly international band, with members hailing from as far afield as San Diego, Toronto, Singapore and (uhm) Rochdale, the 'Planners came together in 2019 in Roehampton, SW London. Since then, they have thrilled audiences across the capital and beyond. See for yourself - details of their forthcoming appearances are available
here.
Their initial foray into gigging was interrupted by lockdown in 2020 , but the boys fought back by releasing five songs in five weeks in the spring and dropped their debut album Fame.Jazz.Void (Rotown Records) by the end of the year. Twelve top tunes in their trademark Hard Pop style, the album is available from all download/streaming services, or head over to our Buy music page to order limited-editions of the album on custom engraved wood USB stick or vinyl.
The band will be following up their outstanding debut with the forthcoming second album, One Quarter Bulletproof (Rotown Records). With a heady 50-50 mix of up-tempo tunes and deep ballads, it is a bold restatement of their Hard Pop philosophy - the perfect mix of melody, power & harmony. Check out the songs the band have dropped ahead of the album release on all major streaming/downloading services: Raygun, Ordinary Guy, Carrie and Carry Me Away and our latest single LoFi.
